I love my plants dearly, all 13+ of them. It’s pruning season; I trim away the dead branches from Winter daily to make room for new life. Take some time to reflect on the idea of pruning and how it applies to where you are and wish to be.

When to Prune ( “Dead Branches” In Your Life )
- You have an empty pot of soil. The plant, job, relationship, etc… is DEAD. You don’t wish to return to or gain anything that you have walked away from, or that has walked away from you.

- You want better, not a replacement. When you prune a plant, the dead parts grow back stronger and more vibrant in color. It does not grow back the same way.

As the dead branches lie on the ground in this photo, you can see the juicy new leaves, growing better than before! During the most recent winter storm in HTX, this precious plant of mine completely died. Only the beautiful hand-crafted pot remained…
Still, I watered it daily, fertilized it, and talked to it until Spring came. I knew, that better would come to take the place of what once was. You must know that too.

How to Prune Your Life!
It’s simple, trim those dead leaves and remove those dead branches!

- Do not keep up with exes: ex-employers, ex-interviews, ex-relationships, and ex-family that totally let you down. FOCUS ON YOURSELF. As a weekly therapy attendee for a year now, I highly recommend therapy. (You can contact me for suggestions on how to find an amazing therapist.) Please, try the exercise below if you haven’t already:
Letter to My Previous Employer | Exercise
An exercise to make space for new things, and to let go of what is done.
- Seek inspiration from others, but don’t be a copycat. Remember, once a plant dies and is pruned, it grows back better than ever. It is never the same as another plant, or even as it was once before!
- Take nothing personal. As you seek, some doors will shut, but rejection is your protection.
How do you PRUNE for new seasons in your life? I adore you, BreeziDeezi readers.
