Creating Creativity

For any creative person, the river of creativity has moments where it stops flowing, and ideas are blocked. This is how I personally, always find ways to be creative.

I feel that it’s been a while since I wrote a post so personal. Consider this blog to be a conversation between friends – real and raw!

How To Create Creativity

  • Start with what you have. Even if just an idea, or empty code – START. This post started with only a desire to write. Next, I typed the current thoughts in my head on a blank document and chose a topic. And, eventually, the desire to write turned into a completed goal. Also, starting with what you have means relying on yourself for a while, but being willing to ask for help. You do not have to have everything you think you need to simply START; It is when you SUSTAIN that you’ll need the help from others.

  • Seek Inspiration from YOURSELF (Step away from others). I personally avoid social media and other blogs when I feel a lack of creativity. It is easier to simply revise an idea that already exists when you feel burned out – and revising is not being creative! Despite different niches, I see this a lot on social media with reels and posts – the lack of creativity among most people, is VERY apparent to those that take time to step away and brainstorm. How is it that a life-coach, personal trainer and finance entrepreneur all post the same inspirational quote? Well, No one is being creative enough to appeal to their specific audience. The social media content I share on Instagram and TikTok as it relates to BreeziDeezi is all branded and relates to my mission: “Breeze through #college and #career with #cash and #confidence, that’s what BreeziDeezi.com is all about.” Therefore, I wouldn’t post a quote about breaks up or copy a scenic reel for the attention it may get – will the social media attention convert to business? For me, this is ALWAYS the goal and result with anything I share online, and this goal inspires me to be CREATIVE!

  • Consider, what is blocking your creativity? It helps me to asses why I lack creativity; often it is because I am overwhelmed in other ways (anxiety). Do you self-reward too much? Those mid-day glasses of wine while working from home surely can slow down your creative output. Scrolling on social media as way to relax? Also a bad idea, as time can escape you and you flooded with the ideas of others. When you know what to change, you have more power to change it.
